NICE TO MEET YOU
I'm Meagan Karnes
...and I'm totally obsessed with toy play. What started as a simple question of "Why won't my dog bring the toy back" evolved into years of study into the canine brain.
Along my journey, I discovered that there are things that our dogs are naturally motivated to do. It's why many labradors bring toys back without being taught, while many German Shepherds prefer to run off and own their toys. But what I wasn't prepared for was how much understanding those motivations and providing proper outlets for them impacts the mental health of the dog.
Through toy play, I discovered how to boost engagement. But more importantly, I learned how to decrease frustration, manage arousal levels and in many instances reduce or even eliminate common behavior problems like destructive behavior, over-excitement and even reactivity.
Now I want to share what I've learned with you.
It's time to up your game.
